All Things New -- New Marriage, New House, New Puppy
The New House
Stella All of these items deserve a page of their own, but I'm just too busy and/or lazy to take care of the main part of this site anymore it seems. We got married. We had a honeymoon. We bought a house. We got a new puppy Golden Retriever. Just wanted to say how happy Audrey and I are since getting married on 7-7-7. We had a great wedding, a great reception, and then a great honeymoon on Orcas Island -- the largest island of the San Juan Islands in northern Washington (about 2 hours north of Seattle). Our new house is a cool little house with an enormous backyard for the new puppy, Stella to play in.
If You Need Computer Speakers...
For a little more than a hundred bucks you too can have good sound in front of you. Last weekend I had to replace my computer speakers. This may not be a big deal to everyone, but they are an important item in my household as it's the only stereo I really use. My old system, a Klipsch 4.1 set was really nice and cost me a lot of dough when I bought them four years ago. However, I despite the rich sound and full spectrum that it covered (not to mention the loud volumes it could handle), it had become somewhat unreliable in the past few months. An intermittent, and yet random popping of the subwoofer plagued us every time the system was turned on. Furthermore, dust had collected very shortly after purchasing the system, which caused a static-like annoyance everytime the volume or connections were adjusted. No worries. I found a lighter, less expensive, and just as capable system from Altec Lansing. So I guess this writing is to inform you that if you need a speaker system for your computer, check the Altec Lansing FX4021. The brand is reputable. They range of sound covered is very good, with a small lack in the mid-bass range, that is more or less a result of the recording that you are listening to. The actual bass from the subwoofer itself is very good, not overbearing and is extremely accurate. The sound is rich and actually sounds more organized in standard mode sometimes, rather than in the simulated FX mode. The desk speakers actually have a some cavity to their chamber which allows for some resonance and range of sound rather than just a shallow crack of sound. It's got a remote control too. It's worth the buy if you're interested. Quality product. Quality sound. Quality bargain. Two White Sistas
You should see these two at a party together. One of the coolest things that ever could have happened did actually happen: my brother and I each found awesome ladies who just so happen to be best of friends with each other. It probably has something to do with us being together. Nevertheless, we're in a situation where our wives (my future wife) will always be looking forward to hanging out with the other when we meet up as families. Our children will be swell friends and it will make for a good excuse to take the infamous family vacation. They just better hope that we don't pull up in a used RV and tell them it's our new house. Reference from Uncle Eddie in Christmas Vacation. Amidst a Sea of Comfort
Do not be fooled by her lulling gaze. She will attack you if you on command. Amidst a sea of comfort arises a small brown head on a large brown couch. I am not sure who likes the new furniture more, me or Lucie. She pretty much owns whatever she wants until I dominate her. She is 1/19 my size and I will let her know if she ever challenges me. The look she has on her face right now is not threatening. It's more of a "peering session." This usually takes place just prior to a sleep sequence, and involves Lucie not really moving her body, but using her trusty eyes to see if I am coming into contact with any food. Otherwise, expending any additional effort is not needed. However, should a piece of cheese or meat be involved, her actions would be quite different. |
