Cool Sites Worth Visiting
www.archive.org
Freakin awesome site – particularly for the live music archive. This has the best collection of live music of any site in the world. Seriously, any jam band it seems, big or small, can be found on this site with the option to stream the show or download in .flac, .shn or .mp3 formats. FLAC and SHORTEN are very high quality, lossless audio formats that preserve show-quality without hardly any compression at all. You can also check out speeches by world leaders, our president and even recordings of the Dali Lama. Basically, the awesome site provides free access to researchers, historians, scholars, general public, and of course, media.
www.guitarshredshow.com
The site is nuts... whoever made it is nuts. The interactivity between the user and the "guitar player" is really amazing. After entering the site and reaching the island, listen to Mr. Fastfinger and then pick "The Mountain of the Tapping Dwarves: Lesson & Jam". There, you can press any key on the keyboard to view some ridiculous lick that he plays, you can see and you have the ability to change the tuner and all that other guitar-like stuff. What's so cool to me, is how quickly the Flash reacts to your keystroke.
www.lumis.com
This is a great site with a lot of information and a TON of digital photography. Developed by one of my friends and coworkers, David Rencher, you'll find a unique perspective of the world, and a good bit dealing with digital photography and online handling of your photo applications/displays – especially for Flickr-savvy individuals. Good programmer and web developer. Good resource to learn from.
www.nicholasroussos.com
Cool site developed by my buddy Nick Roussos. Nick taught me a lot about web development. His blog is very informative across many subjects – especially those dealing with random and technical stuff. The site has a nice look and themed areas as well. Good programmer and web developer. Good resource to learn from.
www.realultimatepower.net
The Official Ninja Webpage – the name speaks for itself. If you need to be a ninja or want to know what a ninja is really like, this is the site for you. Do not be fooled by other ninja sites... this is the one with the truth of all that is ninja.
www.deadsquirrel.com
This one is a classic: All Squirrels Must Die! Yea, I have the t-shirt... who doesn't? They've redone their site and it looks pretty good. Give 'em a try and you'll realize just how terrible squirrels are. They truly are man's worst enemy.
